Link: The growing impact of technology on the RTO sector

the study shows a significant portion of RTO organisations (25%) still only provide a traditional, face-to-face learning environment. The top three reasons for not adopting online learning are reported as: management preference for face-to-face teaching (30%), the courses provided do not require it (27%) and the lack of skills / IT resources (25%).

An interesting report on technology in the VET sector. The report, titled AVEAR 2018, was a collaboration of Instructure Australia and Velg Training. Kerri Buttery, whom I’ve met at H5PCon2018 and 2018NVC, contributed to the white paper.

I’ve downloaded a copy for myself and will examine their conclusions, but even the key insights they call out in this article are fairly interesting. It looks like there is an uptake in eLearning in the VET sector, but there are still pockets of stubborn holdouts.
