So I’ve been doing my part recently promoting MoodlePosium and BuzzConf, but I also wanted to spare a word for OSDC – the Open Source Developers’ Conference. This year it will be held in Hobart, October 27th to 29th.
I’m not a developer, I’m the first to admit that. And I use a Mac, and it’s most definitely not running Linux. So why am I interested?
Well, lately I think all the cool, fun things I’m playing with are open source. Moodle, WordPress, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, jQuery, ember.js, Brackets – all open source!
The schedule looks interesting. There almost seems to be an EduTech stream:
- Teaching and learning, what I learned from a year of mentoring at UTS by Jack Skinner
- Disrupting the Classroom, in a Good Way by Arjen Lentz
- Skulling Around: Hands-on History by Claire Reeler
Plus some of my friends are presenting – Jack Skinner, Ben Dechrai, Katie McLaughlin (although she’ll be presenting at the same time as me if the schedule holds), and some virtual/twitter associates – Blair Wyatt, Kathy Reid and Paul Fenwick. A lot of these names might look familiar if you see who’ll be at BuzzConf!
I hope to see you in Hobart in October!
