…I get a lot of practice after all…
In anticipation of some big news coming soon, I’ve decided it’s time to reboot the blog. I know that I had this same thought in December but that didn’t seem to work out too well.
What have I been doing?
Well, I should talk about the DEANZ/FLANZ conference I attended and presented at in Hamilton, NZ in April. It was a great time and a great opportunity to work with my mates and co-presenters Belma Gaukrodger and Rochelle Savage. And I made a little bit of ruckus by bringing The Conference Fairy with me!
DEANZ (the Distance Education Association of New Zealand) actually changed to FLANZ (the Flexible Learning Association of New Zealand) while I was there. It was a great eLearning conference, the kind I hardly attend, and I greatly appreciated the hospitality of Hamilton, the University of Waikato and everyone at FLANZ.
And I should talk about iMoot16, a great conference that I attended mostly from my bed! iMoot was an online Moodle conference that I presented at. And of course, I embraced the title of “The IoT Moodler” at that conference by presenting on Moodle running on a Raspberry Pi Zero! I probably was also the first to run Moodle on the Pine A64+ as well. I had so much fun playing with Single Board Computers, I might be tempted to submit a talk to Moodle Moot Australia 2016, and Moodle Moot NZX…
What will I be doing?
I have a huge announcement soon.
But I also figured I should try to blog at least weekly. I know, right! Well, I’ll give it my best shot. I’m not a very blog type person, but considering one of my jobs is teaching WordPress, it’s ridiculous that I don’t have a blog.
So here we go, a commitment to you, my very small and very occasional audience, that I’ll post at least once a week on topics WordPress, Moodle, eLearning, EduTech or Internet of Things related.
Wow, that’s quite the laundry list of topics. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned in 2015; there’s a lot of crossover between EduTech and IoT.
